CNC Router Operator
We are on the hunt for a practically minded and motivated person to join our busy wholesale signage manufacturing and engineering business as an entry level CNC flatbed router operator.
Our business is well known for creating solutions to problems others put in the too hard basket, so you need to be someone who can think on their feet, apply themself, and have the drive to successfully produce high quality results. This role will involve you working closely with our forward thinking CNC design engineer and management team.We also require you to be a true team player and assist with ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard while also keeping things fun.
Ideally the successful candidate would have applicable CNC router experience, but applicants will definitely need to be practically minded with hands on skills ideally from a CNC background or a trade, be physically capable of loading and unloading the machines, be computer literate enough to load and execute CNC programs, and have a drive to learn how CNC machines operate.
We also require applicants show constant initiative, have a keen eye for detail and safety, have the mindset that Monday is the best day of the week, the drive to grab onto the opportunities each day presents, and a decent sense of humour. We are a close nit multi-facetted company who create what others can only dream about, and while “signage” is our mainstay, every day is different and we are genuinely creators of unique things.

- Reliable: You need to arrive punctually each day and ready to put in a good days work.
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNC Operator will place you high on the list as we are ideally looking for someone to hit the ground running, but applicants with hands on experince from a trade and a real desire to learn everything CNC will also be considered. Any hands on signage experience would be a great!
- Technically savvy: You may not be able to speak CNC yet but a good understanding of computer system would be a bonus.
- Software knowledge: Bonus points for any experience with Syntec control systems, and with Rhino / Rhinocam. You may end up completing basic drawings and programming.
- Good level of fitness: Some of our raw materials are large and/or heavy so a good level of fitness is required (along with a safety conscious mind for correct handling methods).
- Attention to detail: Must have the eyesight of a hawk and the patience of a saint.
- Problem solver: When things go wrong (and they sometimes do), you should be able to fix them faster than a superhero saves the day.
- Sense of humour: Because let’s face it, if you can’t laugh at a machine throwing a fit, you’re in the wrong job. Bad puns should be a speciality.
- Verbal skills: You must be able to communicate clearly with the wider team.
- Fork hoist experience: Would be preferred as loading and unloading trucks is often required.
- We are a small company and as such we all get involved so this position may require you to aid with other areas of the business including manufacture and install on the off occasion.
- The role may involve periods of sitting, walking, and handstands/star jumps, as well as manual handling of materials so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
- Being a close nit team we pride ourselves on creating and maintaining a great team environment so we all have an enjoyable working experience.
Application Process: Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience and qualifications throught to jobs@rodier.co.nz , bribery also helps.
