Diesel Mechanic/Technician - Invercargill
Three Rivers Contracting is a well-established agricultural contracting and transport business based in Wyndham, Southland. We provide high-quality silage, baleage, cultivation, effluent, transport, and earthmoving services to clients across the region.
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This is a key role where you’ll maintain and repair a modern fleet of tractors, harvesters, trucks, and machinery, ensuring our operations run smoothly throughout the busy seasons.With a diverse range of gear and brands, and all servicing carried out in-house, you’ll enjoy consistent, hands-on work with plenty of variety year-round.
We also have the ability to tailor the role to the individual’s needs – whether that’s a focus on 100% mechanical work, or a mixture of driving, engineering, and other tasks to suit your skills and interests.
For the right person, there’s also scope to take on additional responsibilities in fleet management and workshop systems as the business continues to grow.
What you’ll be doing:- Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines, heavy vehicles, and agricultural machinery
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and urgent breakdown repairs both in the workshop and in the field
- Use diagnostic equipment, service software, and laptops to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Support improvements in workshop systems, safety, and workflow
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Technician (or equivalent proven experience)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current driver’s licence (HT licence an advantage)
- Practical, reliable, and safety-conscious with a positive attitude
