**What You’ll Be Doing**
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Dispatcher to join our Curtainsider division, based at our depot in Sockburn.
If you're an existing Dispatcher seeking a change of scenery, an experienced driver ready to transition into an office role, someone with a background in supply chain management, or you have a passion for the transport industry and are keen to learn, this could be the career move you've been waiting for!
It is a hands-on role so previous experience in the transport industry is desirable. The successful applicant will be responsible for the scheduling and dispatch of Curtainsiders across New Zealand. Along with ensuring the most efficient use of resources by managing driver’s workload and allocating daily jobs, the dispatcher will also manage relationships with key customers and will be responsible for other general dispatching and office duties.The successful applicant will have a sense of urgency and ownership in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
The roster will have you working Monday – Friday, with rostered weekends.
**What we're looking for:**- **Experience in operations** – You’ve been in the transport industry for a while, preferably with hands-on experience in dispatching, scheduling, and leading teams.
- **Leadership skills** – You’re able to inspire and lead teams, ensuring everyone works together to get the job done in a fast-paced environment.
- **Customer focus** – You’ll always keep clients happy by ensuring service is efficient, professional, and top-notch.
- **Communication** – You’re great at talking to people, whether it’s your team, clients, or internal key contacts. You are a whiz at multi-tasking and have great problem-solving skills.
- **Transport sector knowledge** – You’ve got a solid background in transport and logistics.
- **Health and safety** – You know how to keep a workplace safe, and you lead by example.
- **Local knowledge** – You have good geographical knowledge of New Zealand, experience with interisland movements and ferry bookings - that’s essential!
