Night Porter – Waterloo Hotel

We are currently looking for a reliable, energetic, and career-focused Night Porter to join our friendly Front Office team.

This role requires overnight availability, working 11:00pm to 7:30am, so flexibility to work these hours is essential.
About the Role
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, and General Manager, the Night Porter is responsible for supporting overnight hotel operations and ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of guests during the night shift.This role includes front desk duties, guest assistance, overnight operational support, security monitoring, and maintaining the presentation of the hotel throughout the night.
Please note: this is a Night Porter position with some overnight operational reporting responsibilities and is not a full financial Night Auditor role.
Key Responsibilities- Manage overnight guest check-ins and check-outs
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints
- Monitor hotel safety and security throughout the night
- Conduct regular lobby and property checks to maintain presentation standards
- Assist with overnight guest services, portering, and car parking support
- Ensure phones are answered professionally and efficiently
- Prepare and deliver room service and early breakfast requests
- Set up breakfast and conference rooms as required
- Complete overnight operational reports and shift handovers
- Assist with general cleaning and presentation duties
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents in line with hotel procedures
- Previous hotel experience is essential, ideally in a Night Porter, Front Office, or similar overnight role
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organised during busy periods
- Professional presentation and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and guest privacy standards
- First Aid Certificate desirable
