Hostel Support Worker
- Provide practical daily needs for men at the Addington Hostel in Christchurch
- Saturday to Tuesday from 3:30pm to 12 midnight, for a total of 32 hours per week
**About the Business:**
The Addington Hostel has been providing housing support for men for the last 130 years in Christchurch. This is a 24 hour staffed service for up to 88 men across two sites. The hostel has undertaken significant new building works in the last 12 months at the site creating a modern work environment to work in.
**About the Role:**
Support Workers are a core part of our hostel team. There is at least 2-3 Support workers onsite across the site at any time. Depending upon time of day, Support Workers will work alongside our Nurses, Counsellors, Social workers, Caseworkers to provide a team response to responding to the men who use our service.
**What will your responsibilities be:**- Medications each shift
- Food support services from our commercial kitchen
- Cleaning of rooms as needed
- Site safety and security
- Writing client notes
- Engaging with the men across the shift
- Supporting other staff on shift wth you
- Have completed the Level 4 Cert in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent)
- Have at least 2 years of NZ experience in Corrections, Mental Health, Addictions or Housing services (or similar)
- Be comfortable in an all male hostel (majority of staff are female)
- Able to work the 4 shifts each week Saturday to Tuesday each week
- Have a full NZ drivers licence
- An additional working week of Salvation Army leave awarded annually on 1 July

The starting hourly rate for this role will be **$29.60**
