We're looking for a Team Manager to lead a high-performing team of compliance analysts in a complex regulatory environment.

We're looking for a dynamic people leader to head our National Monitoring & Intelligenceteam.

This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of actionable intelligence and operational oversight to detect illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) commercial fishing offending in New Zealand fisheries waters.

About You

  • National Monitoring & Intelligence, you will:Drive national priorities and compliance strategies for commercial fisheriesOversee intelligence analysis and monitoring programmes that inform operational decisionsContinue to develop and implement risk-based and scanning frameworksProvide authoritative advice to senior leadership and ensure compliance with legislative and evidential standardsLead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and technical excellenceEnsure the team adheres to legislation, maintains professional standards and ethicsRepresent MPI across MPI and other government agency forumsSupporting the continued improvement and innovation of our digital monitoring toolsTo be considered a successful applicant you will have;Proven leadership experience in an intelligence or regulatory environmentStrong analytical skillsStrong understanding of legislation and regulatory processesAbility to build effective relationships across government and industryIt is also desirable that you will have;Expertise in compliance operationsFamiliarity with technologies used in monitoring and regulatory environmentsKnowledge of commercial fishingYou do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply.
