HIGHEND CONTRACTING LIMITED, operating within the horticulture industry, is seeking a Fruit Production Supervisor to join its team in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. We are looking for individuals with strong leadership skills, extensive horticulture experience, and the ability to oversee and manage fruit production operations, ensuring high-quality crop standards and efficient orchard performance.

Key Responsibilities include-
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of orchard workers involved in planting, cultivating, irrigating, pruning, spraying, thinning, and harvesting fruit crops.
  • Monitor crop development and fruit quality to ensure production targets and industry standards are achieved.
  • Allocate tasks to workers and oversee performance to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and within required timeframes.
  • Train and guide staff on correct horticultural techniques, safe handling of equipment, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to biosecurity, food safety, and spray programme regulations, including maintaining accurate spray and production records.
  • Inspect orchards regularly to identify pest, disease, or environmental issues and implement appropriate corrective measures.
  • Coordinate harvesting operations to meet quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain records of labour hours, production outputs, crop yields, and chemical applications.
  • Oversee the safe operation and basic maintenance of machinery, irrigation systems, and horticultural equipment.
  • Report to management on crop performance, staffing requirements, and operational matters.
  • Promote and enforce workplace health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will be paid between $27 to

$35 per hour.

Other Requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience or a Relevant Level 4 qualification in Business / Horticulture.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and coordinate seasonal or contract workers effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of fruit production processes, quality standards, and pest/disease control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
