About the Role (your why)

You will be part of a brand new function within Datacom called Tech Procurement Group – you'll be responsible for supporting the Datacom business to help achieve our goal to maximize cost savings and leverage volume discounts internally.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Being dedicated to Datacom internal transactions – both hardware and software
  • Working with distributors and vendors including managing the orders post-sale
  • Meeting delivery expectations/timeframes
  • Resolving administration/logistical/order issues
  • Working with accounts department on various administration tasks for our orders
  • Contributing to monthly reporting for external and internal partners
  • Attending vendor and distributor training regularly to develop product knowledge and understanding
  • Supporting and working closely with our Specialists in the day-to-day internal transactions for hardware and software.
  • Ensuring stakeholders are kept up to date with all Communications on eta’s, back orders and order status issues
  • Supporting our TPG Inside Sales Representative in creating accurate and timely quotes
  • Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy

What you’ll bring:

Required experience:

  • At least 1-2 years experience in hardware/software procurement (either with a reseller or distributor)
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of procurement administration procedures – ordering, receipting, invoicing, returns and payments
