He whakamarama mo te turanga mahi | About the role:

As an L&D Talent Partner, you’ll be at the centre of KiwiRail’s talent development efforts – designing and delivering initiatives that strengthen our workforce for tomorrow. You’ll coordinate onboarding, succession planning, and internal career pathways while leading programmes like our Graduate and Apprentice offerings.

You’ll collaborate across the business to identify development needs and shape tailored learning journeys. Your work will directly support our mission to grow capability and build strong internal pipelines, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles at the right time.

We’re looking for someone who is committed to learning, development, and building lasting talent pathways. You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment and be confident managing multiple programmes.

You will need:
  • Proven experience in L&D or HR roles with a focus on talent development
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing Graduate and/or Apprentice programmes
  • Knowledge of talent strategies and learning frameworks
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, business, or a related field
It would be great if you also have:
  • Familiarity with industry training organisations (ITOs) or NZQA frameworks
  • Experience supporting internal mobility and succession planning
