The Opportunity
We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Social Worker in Schools (SWiS) to work across three primary schools in Napier. You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering both preventative and responsive support for tamariki and their whanau — building strong relationships, facilitating group programmes, and walking alongside those who need you most.
What You’ll Be Doing- Supporting tamariki and whanau in both school and home settings
- Building trusted relationships with school staff, communities and professionals
- Delivering group programmes that promote wellbeing and resilience
- Navigating complex family situations with skill, compassion and professionalism
- Working as part of a connected, experienced social work team
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current SWRB registration
- Experience working with tamariki, whanau, and schools
- Strong relationship-building, communication and digital literacy skills
- Confidence in child protection and family wellbeing frameworks
- A full NZ driver’s license and reliable vehicle
