About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced senior registered nurse who is ready to specialise, has a passion for diabetes, and preferably is a Registered Nurse prescriber or well on the pathway.You will be running your own nurse-led clinics for people with diabetes aged 15 and over, predominantly Type 1 but also some with complex Type 2 Diabetes.

The position will be based in Hamilton with travel to community clinics and to Matamata. You will be required to provide diabetes education, to patients and their whanau, other health care providers, and run insulin pump training courses for your patients locally.You will be supported by the larger multi-disciplinary diabetes service based in Hamilton and will be given an extensive orientation to the role.
Full support will be given to continue your RN prescribing, or to achieve your RN prescribing in diabetes and related health conditions. We pro-actively support post graduate education and working to the top of your scope of practice.Having a working knowledge of Hamilton and Matamata, the wider Waikato community, and local iwi/whanau would definitely be advantageous.
