This role is expected tocover 4 South winter ward and may be redeploy to another General Medicine Wardsuch as ward 5 South, MAPU and ward 6E. This role offers the opportunity to work on General Medical Nursing, various medical subspecialties, and High Acuity Medical Unit setting.
You will play a key role indelivering high-quality nursing care, supporting the multidisciplinary team,and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities include providing generalmedical nursing duties monitoring patient conditions and assisting withclinical and service activities as needed in a fast-paced and supportiveenvironment.About theTeam4 South winter wardis a 12 bedded unit allocated forshort stay medical care, targeting patients nearing discharge readiness.
This waredis expected to primarily support patients transitioning from Medical Assessmentand Planning Unit with a projected total length of stay of 1.5 to 3 days. Theintent is to provide a dedicated environment on 4 South for continued care, following rapid assessment in MAPU, facilitating timely dischargeinto the community.Ward5 South based in Wellington Regional Hospital is a fast-paced 36 bed wardcaring for a wide variety of acutely unwell patients.

It includes a 4-beddedhigh-dependency bay with a potential to expand due to service demands.Ward5 South includes the following services, but are not limited to:General MedicineRespiratory MedicineGastroenterologyPalliative CareManaged Withdrawal ServicesInfectious DiseasesEating DisordersGerontologyGeriatricsImmunologyHigh-Dependency NursingThisposition is perfect for you as a nurse to take that next step and develop yourcareer in an exciting and challenging role.DutiesUndertakes a comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment of clients using suitable assessment tools underpinned by evidence-based knowledge.Contributes to care planning, involving clients, and demonstrates an understanding of clients' rights to make informed decisions.Provides nursing care according to plan and undertakes clinical practice procedures and skills in a competent and safe way.Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care seeking assistance and knowledge as necessary.About youRegistered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC with proven clinical expertise within acute and high acuity medical nursing.Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to engage people at all levelsWorking forHealth New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
