Key Responsibilities are as follows:
Plant, water, fertilize, and nurture a variety of flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants.Perform regular maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, weeding, trimming hedges, and pruning trees to maintain their health and appearance.
Monitor the health of plants, diagnose and treat pests and diseases, and apply pest control chemicals when necessary.
Keep all walkways and green spaces clean and free from debris, litter, and overgrowth.
Provide appropriate seasonal care for plants and adapt to changing weather conditions throughout the year.
Design, create, and manage gardens and landscapes, which may include advising homeowners on garden design.
Prepare and maintain seedbeds and cultivating areas for optimal growth.
Propagate and plant trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs to enhance landscape design.
Ready lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf for a lush, green appearance.
Maintain planted beds and grassed areas through activities such as weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and mowing.
Prune trees and hedges regularly, and install supports and protective devices to ensure healthy growth.
Apply sprays and dusts to plants and trees to control pests and diseases effectively.
Essential Skills and Qualities include:
Physical Stamina: The ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.Plant Knowledge: Expertise in different plant species, their care requirements, and soil management.
Horticulture Skills: Proficiency in key techniques such as pruning, irrigation, and pest control.
Design Eye: A keen eye for design to create aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces.
Love of Outdoors: A genuine passion for working in outdoor environments.
The work is physically demanding and primarily takes place outdoors, though it may also involve work in greenhouses and nurseries. The Gardner must be prepared to work in a wide range of weather conditions.
Pay rate: $25-$25 per hour
Full time minimum 30 hours per week
