Artisan Cladding Systems Ltd started out as local builders in the Manawatu and have diversified into a specialised sheet cladding company over the past 18 years. We are a close-knit team that undertakes the supply, fabrication and installation of aluminium, composite, laminate and fibre cement cladding systems.

We are based in Palmerston North but work on Commercial, Industrial and Residential projects on sites throughout New Zealand from Whangarei to Invercargill.

Purpose of the role:

To provide support to the Project Manager by supervising day to day activities onsite and taking responsibility for team, compliance, health and safety and specific projects.

Key responsibilities of the role include.
  • Responsibility for onsite day-to-day operations
  • Workflow & installation management
  • Attend onsite, undertake site measurements and responsibility for oversight of projects
  • Assisting the team in the factory with fabrication
  • Responsibility for communication channels between internal and external parties
  • Manage, lead and motivate team and sub-contractors
  • Responsible for quality control
  • Check and maintain machinery to ensure functionality
  • Ensuring best practice Health & Safety for all projects onsite and observe and practice Health and Safety
  • Provide support to Managing Director and Project Manager, providing backup where required
  • Complete all necessary paperwork including timesheets and report to Office Manager
The skills and attributes required to be a success in this role include.
  • Practical experience in building and construction
  • Qualified builder would be a bonus
  • Ability to read and fully understand construction plans
  • Sound understanding of the Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
  • A natural leader, supports guides and mentors
  • A mature, honest and responsible person
Benefits provided:
  • Wage – $33-$37 per hour
  • Vehicle – Ute available 24/7 (will be sign written)
  • Phone allowance – reimbursement of monthly phone costs at $20 per fortnight
  • Tools and equipment provided
  • Relevant site licenses provided eg EWP, Forklift, Site Safe etc
  • Opportunity for travel throughout NZ
Hours:
  1. 30 - 5pm on a ‘normal’ non travel day.

There will be regular travel in this role whether that be onsite locally and afield within New Zealand. Some weeks will require more, some less depending on jobs and workflow management.

Requirements for new employee:
  • Practical experience in the construction industry or similar supervisor role
  • Available to travel throughout NZ
  • Available to work outside of usual hours
  • Right to work in NZ
  • Full and current NZ Drivers License
  • Police check
  • Experience within the construction industry would be an advantage but is not essential
