Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Commercial Vehicle Fabricator/Engineer to join our skilled team. You will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of truck bodies and commercial vehicle fit-outs, using a combination of steelwork, alloy components, electrical systems, and interior cabinetry.
The ideal candidate will have experience building commercial vehicle bodies or mobile workspaces. Experience in motorhome or campervan construction is also highly relevant. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in welding, fabrication, 12/24V electrical systems, and interior fit-outs.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate and assemble steel or alloy truck and van bodies based on engineering plans or custom specs.
- Perform MIG/TIG welding and general steel/aluminium fabrication.
- Install subframes, body panels, floors, toolboxes, and structural components.
- Fit-out interiors including cabinetry, lining, insulation, and accessories.
- Wire 12V and 24V systems for lighting, switches, and power components.
- Read and interpret plans and drawings with precision.
- Collaborate with the workshop team to meet deadlines and ensure quality.
- Maintain workshop safety and cleanliness standards.
- Proven background in vehicle fabrication, motorbody building, or mobile workspace construction.
- Experience in campervan or motorhome building is a strong advantage.
- Skilled in welding MIG/TIG, steel fabrication, and panel work.
- Competent in 12V and 24V vehicle electrical wiring.
- Comfortable with cabinetry, linings, and interior finishes.
- Able to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Full or restricted driver’s license HT is a plus.
