About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to come and join NZ Health | Te Whatu Ora, Waikato, Older Persons and Rehabilitation service working at Matariki Continuing Care facility, Te Awamutu.
Applicants will need to have a passion to care for the elderly in a kind and empathetic manner and be prepared to work in a busy and challenging environment.Successful applicants must be available to work rostered and rotating 8 hours shifts 24/7 across all seven days of the week.

About the ServiceMatariki is an off-site Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Inpatient Continuing Care facility. Matariki cares mostly for post-acute patients who have been inpatients at Waikato or Thames hospitals and need time to recover prior to their discharge.Matariki has a rehabilitative focus and also cares for palliative and day care patients.You will be joining our dedicated interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

About youTo be considered for this role, youll need:previous health care assistant experience, preferably in a hospital setting.previous work experience in a New Zealand health care setting.preference will be given to those who have achieved health related NZQA standards.understanding that this role has no permanent hours per week attachedIf you have a passion for working with the elderly and enjoy working in a team environment, we will welcome your application.
