  • An opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies
  • New Zealand-owned business committed to excellence and innovation

About the disruptive venture Be among the first to join a cutting-edge tech start-up that is poised to revolutionise the staffing industry. Supported by a well-established New Zealand-owned and operated business, our client is dedicated to creating seamless access to skills and opportunities for individuals and organisations, transforming the way staffing solutions are delivered.

Their core values define their approach and aspirations:

  • Integrity: Always do the right thing
  • Accessible: Effortless experiences accessible to everyone
  • Transparent: Champion privacy, inspire trust
  • CANI (Constant & Never-ending Improvement): Always evolving
  • Humility: Stay humble, strive higher
The role A strong development team needs clear direction, and even the best product fails if it doesn't meet real needs. As their Agile Business Analyst/Product Owner, this role will guide their development team, applying agile thinking to prioritise their backlog effectively, write dev-ready stories, and ensure delivery aligns with business goals.

Though primarily tactical, this role also expects strategic thinking by collaborating with the Product Manager on product evolution. As a small but rapidly growing business, you'll have autonomy to shape the team's workflow, challenge assumptions, influence product design, and contribute your unique skills to help improve the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements analysis: Elicit, analyse, and document business and system requirements using a variety of techniques (interviews, workshops, process modeling, etc.).
  • Story writing: Translate high-level business needs into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Process improvement: Conduct gap analyses and propose solutions to improve business processes and product functionality.
  • Testing: Support the testing and validation of newly developed features to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Backlog prioritisation: Work with the Product Manager to maintain and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Communication: Communicate release plans and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate agile: Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Continuous improvement: Champion Agile principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

About You You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and excel in communication and organisation. You thrive in fast-paced, creative environments and are determined to deliver stakeholder value. You are either a Product Owner who enjoys the detail of Business Analysis, or you are a Business Analyst who is looking to grow into a Product Owner role.

Additionally, you have:

  • Experience of working on a SaaS mobile app or web app (ideally both).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
  • Proven experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
What's In It for You?
  • Innovative Environment: Join a startup that's setting new benchmarks in the staffing industry with cutting-edge technology.
  • Hybrid Working: Tuesday and Friday work from home
  • Competitive Package: Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits, health and wellness support, and the opportunity to work with a highly experienced and talented team.

If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge and be an integral part of a game-changing tech startup, we invite you to apply by submitting your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you're the ideal candidate for this position.
