Though primarily tactical, this role also expects strategic thinking by collaborating with the Product Manager on product evolution. As a small but rapidly growing business, you'll have autonomy to shape the team's workflow, challenge assumptions, influence product design, and contribute your unique skills to help improve the business.
Key Responsibilities- Requirements analysis: Elicit, analyse, and document business and system requirements using a variety of techniques (interviews, workshops, process modeling, etc.).
- Story writing: Translate high-level business needs into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Process improvement: Conduct gap analyses and propose solutions to improve business processes and product functionality.
- Testing: Support the testing and validation of newly developed features to ensure they meet requirements.
- Backlog prioritisation: Work with the Product Manager to maintain and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Communication: Communicate release plans and status updates to stakeholders.
- Facilitate agile: Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Continuous improvement: Champion Agile principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
About You You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and excel in communication and organisation. You thrive in fast-paced, creative environments and are determined to deliver stakeholder value. You are either a Product Owner who enjoys the detail of Business Analysis, or you are a Business Analyst who is looking to grow into a Product Owner role.
Additionally, you have:
- Experience of working on a SaaS mobile app or web app (ideally both).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner in Agile environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
- Proven experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
