About the role

We're looking for a proactive and people-focusedInternal Operations Team Leaderto join our Internal Operations team on a15-month full time fixed term in our Auckland Head Office, to cover a period of maternity leave. This role provides support across a broad range of disciplines including administration, sustainability, operations, information security, innovation and health & safety, while also leading and supporting our Internal Operations Coordinators.

You are an exceptionally confident and capable professional with proven leadership experience. You are comfortable working with people at all levels of an organisation, including presenting to senior leaders and Directors with credibility and clarity.

You are highly proactive, self-motivated, and take ownership without needing to be prompted. You see what needs to be done and make it happen. You bring strong attention to detail, thrive on accountability, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

As a leader, you are able to motivate and support your team while also holding them to account. You set clear expectations, ensure deadlines are met, and create an environment where delivery matters. You are comfortable making tough calls when required and are able to say no when it is in the best interests of the organisation.

You are known for your reliability - deadlines matter to you, and you meet them without exception.

Job description:

  • Support ISO14001 certification and emissions reporting, including administration, data entry and audit preparation.
  • Coordinate and take minutes for key meetings such as H&S, ESG, Innovation, and Inductions.
  • Manage national domestic travel bookings and provide reporting/insights.
  • Act as ISMS (Information Security) team representative and coordinator.
  • Serve as National Health & Safety Coordinator and organise H&S training with People & Culture.
  • Provide project administration support to the Internal Operations Manager.
  • Carry out Fire Warden and First Aid responsibilities.
  • Lead, support and develop the Internal Operations Coordinators/front-line admin team, including regular 1:1s and KPI oversight.
  • Provide personal assisting support to Directors and Managers, including errands, hosting visitors and general support as needed.
Skills and experience
  • Strong administrative and numerical reasoning background with high accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and self-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident running meetings, coordinating teams and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative, common sense and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Warm, friendly and adaptable approach, with strong situational awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • A team player with a strong personality and the confidence to lead and influence others.
  • Professional presentation suitable for a corporate, client-facing environment.
  • Preferred: experience with ESG and/or previous team leadership experience.
