About the Role
We are currently seeking a Surgical Supplies Technician to join our theatre team supporting safe and efficient theatre operations by maintaining accurate stock levels of consumables. This includes managing inventory rotation in both sterile and non-sterile areas, preparing equipment and consumables for procedures, and ensuring required supplies are available, organised, and ready for use.The role also involves selecting and delivering the correct items and instrument sets for upcoming surgeries.
This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE, 40 hours per week) position to be worked Monday – Friday
Specific duties include:
- Supporting morning theatre case set up
- Prepare surgical supplies in advance to ensure all items required for the next day’s procedures are ready and available.
- Maintaining adequate supplies in consultation with the Theatre Clinical Leader to support smooth daily operations of the Theatre.
- Maintaining the organisation, layout and storage of surgical supplies in line with health and safety requirements
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will bring excellent organisational and communication skills. You will also need to demonstrate the following:
- Level 2 CPR
- The ability to plan, organise, prioritise and solve problems effectively
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to use initiative when needed.
- The ability to work well within a team and build positive working relationships.
- Experience working in a hospital setting, specifically theatres, or a background in the health sector would be an advantage.
