Servicing Bay of Plenty & Waikato

The Spa Shop is a trusted, locally owned spa and pool business servicing Rotorua, Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and mechanically minded Spa & Pool Service Technician to join our team.

This role combines scheduled valet servicing, equipment maintenance, customer interaction, and sales support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduled spa and pool maintenance servicing
  • Water testing and chemical balancing
  • Pool vacuuming and spa cleaning
  • Installation and replacement of pumps, filters and filtration media
  • Basic diagnostics and equipment assessment
  • Using our service app to check-in/out of sites, ensuring accurate time-tracking and GPS-logged arrivals
  • Complete digital checklists for every service, capture "before and after" photos, and note chemical readings to provide customers with a professional service history.
  • Record equipment serial numbers and take photos of potential issues to assist with quoting and parts ordering.
  • Onsite upselling of products and services
  • Assisting with spa deliveries and installations
  • Maintaining accurate service records
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Travelling to customer locations across Bay of Plenty and Waikato
Skills & Experience
  • Mechanically minded with basic trade skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail with a focus on presenting pools and spas to a high visual standard.
  • Comfortable with daily travel
  • Confidence in 'check-in/check-out' procedures
  • Comfortable using mobile apps for data entry, photo uploads, and navigating to job sites
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • High level of reliability and flexibility (small team environment)
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy equipment
  • Pool industry experience desirable but not essential
  • Electrical Appliance Technician qualification highly regarded
Essential Requirements
  • Full NZ Driver Licence
  • Ability to pass police and drug screening
  • Basic personal tool kit (guidance provided)

Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Alternate Saturday (approx. 4 hours) shop opening
