About the Role
This position is based at Palmerston North Hospital, a 350 bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatu, a city in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital is a secondary hospital and offers most medical and surgical specialities with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery.The hospital serves a local population of 186,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000 and draws patients from Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawkes Bay. The collegial relationships between departments are strong and consultation with other specialists is easy, either formally with multidisciplinary meetings or informally as required.
There is an active postgraduate medical society and there are excellent clinical library facilities. The Otorhinolaryngology department currently participates in fortnightly radiology and head and neck MDT meetings and monthly thyroid MDT and pathology meetings.
The department hosts a monthly half day regional CDP meeting with otorhinolaryngologists attending from Whanganui, Taranaki and Hawkes' Bay. What can we offer you?

About you
The ideal applicant will have general Otorhinolaryngology experience, ideally with subspecialist interest in Otology and/or Rhinology/Paediatrics. The applicants will support the current consultant team who provide subspecialty Otological and Head and Neck surgery. Applicants should be eligible for vocational registration in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand. About the location:
