In this role you will be responsible for reviews and investigations into areas of high risk and non-compliance within the vehicle certification sector. Drawing on your vehicle certification experience and excellent Vehicle Inspection Requirement Manuals (VIRM) knowledge, you will regularly visit and engage with regulated parties in the Auckland region to ensure that they are meeting compliance and legislative requirements to a range of situations, this will include: Routine performance reviews of Inspecting Organisations (IO's) and Vehicle Inspectors (VI's)Assessing IO's and VI's for entry into the systemResponding appropriately to non-compliance and safety issues using a range of compliance support and enforcement interventions to ensure a safe land transport system You will be required to write high quality reports relating to those visits which will include your findings and implementation of statutory interventions and other regulatory activities as necessary.
Reporting also includes updating of spreadsheets to include your findings, ensuring that desired outcomes are reached in a timely manner, resulting in greater safety and compliance. Travel is a key part of this role across the Auckland and wider region for site visits.This is a Monday to Friday role, with flexible work options. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience: A minimum of 5 years Warrant of Fitness (WoF)/Certification of Fitness (CoF) experienceExcellent knowledge and understanding of VIRMs for CoF/WoF and QMSHigh degree of confidence using multiple IT systems including strong skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookExcellent written communication skills including the ability to write well-reasoned, articulate reportsThe ability to build relationships and appreciate different points of viewExcellent organisational skills to priorities risk and competing work demands Qualifications:Current or recent WoF or CoF authoritiesNZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering L4 or 5Full Driver Licence is preferred with no convictions including demerit points You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
