Floor Finisher - Christchurch

Hours: Guaranteed minimum $40 hour per week

Are you an experienced floor finisher looking to join a reliable and growing team? We’re seeking two skilled Floor Finishers with at least 2 years of proven work experience in carpet and/or hard flooring installations.

• Review site measurements and building plans to determine material quantities needed for each project.
• Prepare floors by cleaning, leveling, and removing existing trim or fittings before installation.
• Cut and lay underlayment materials accurately to suit different flooring systems.
• Install a range of flooring types, including carpet, vinyl, timber parquet, cork tiles, and other resilient products.
• Align patterns precisely, trim flooring around built-in objects, and finish edges to ensure a seamless appearance.
• Secure materials properly and install threshold or edge strips where necessary, especially at doorways and transitions.
• Sand timber surfaces, apply stains, and finish with protective coatings for durability and aesthetics.

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience.
• Skilled in carpet and/or hard floor installation.
• Good physical condition and ability to handle manual work.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Able to provide written references so that we can verify your work experience.
