About the role:Armourguard Nelson is seeking Casual Patrol Officers to support our team during periods of high demand or staff leave. In this role, you will provide mobile patrol services to a wide range of clients, ensuring site security and proactive risk management.
This role will cover a variety of duties across the security space, with full training and assistance toward NZQA qualifications provided if required. Ready for a change? We’re looking for motivated people to join our friendly Nelson team on a casual basis.
Reliability is essential – you will play a key role in protecting infrastructure, preventing trespassing and vandalism, and ensuring the safety of client sites. Accuracy in reporting, monitoring access points, and delivering excellent customer service are critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct scheduled mobile patrols and alarm responses
- Check site perimeters, doors, windows, and access points
- Accurately complete reports and incident logs
- Respond to incidents in line with Armourguard’s protocols
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence
- Interact positively with clients and the public
- Varied shifts, including day, evening, and overnight work
- Fixed-term assignments of up to 6 weeks when needed
To progress through the recruitment process, you must consent to and be able to satisfy pre-employment checks, including:
- Currently reside in the Nelson or Tasman region’
- Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA)
- Be flexible with working hours, including nights and weekends
- Be confident working independently and within a team
- Have strong spoken and written English communication skills
- Strong personal presentation and professional conduct
- Confidence in managing conflict and responding to incidents
- Local area knowledge of Nelson or Tasman
- High reliability and consistency – our clients depend on it
- Respectful, courteous, and aligned with company values
- Previous security experience (desirable)
- NZQA Level 2 or 3 Security Certificates (preferred)
