Forklift Trainer - Contract

We're seeking experienced Forklift Trainers to join our nationwide training pool on a contracted basis. This role is central to delivering top-quality training and ensuring learners leave confident, competent, and safe on the job.
Based in Auckland, Hamilton, or Wellington, you'll primarily deliver Forklift training in your region, with opportunities to travel to other locations when required. The ability to train in WTR (Wheels, Tracks, Rollers) and Dangerous Goods (DG) is highly desirable, providing you with even more variety in the courses you deliver.
As a contract Forklift Trainer, you'll combine practical experience, professionalism, and strong communication skills to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Here's what you'll be doing:- Training Delivery
- Deliver high-quality Forklift licence training to individuals and groups.
- Facilitate practical and theory-based learning in line with NZQA and organisational requirements.
- Deliver additional courses such as WTR and DG (if qualified).
- Ensure all learners are supported and able to demonstrate competency safely.
- Learner Support & Engagement
- Provide clear, approachable, and supportive instruction.
- Adapt training to meet the needs of learners with different skill levels and backgrounds.
- Uphold fairness, professionalism, and learner integrity at all times.
- Assessment & Administration
- Accurately assess and record learner performance.
- Complete evaluation forms, assessments, and reports promptly.
- Follow NZQA and company standards for assessment integrity.
- Continuous Improvement
- Keep your own training and endorsements current.
- Contribute ideas to improve training delivery and learner experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to maintain training excellence.
- NZQA Unit Standard 4098 (assessors) completed or in progress
- NZQA Unit Standard 10851 (Operate a powered industrial lift truck - forklift)
- Current Forklift "F" endorsement
- Previous experience in training or assessment
- Ability to also train WTR and DG (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Patient, professional, and supportive with learners
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- Willingness to travel outside your base region when required
- Passionate about helping people succeed
