Team Leader - Christchurch

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Residential Houses in Christchurch, supporting a client with high and complex needs.
You will lead a team in supporting them to live as independently as possible. Supporting the person to plan and work towards their goals, making sure the person is at the centre of everything you do, and that the person lives a rich and fulfilling life.
There will be a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts spanning across the week, so having the flexibility to support your team across a variety of shifts is a key part of this role.

A Team Leader assists people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, as well as leading and motivating their team.
Your day will involve a range of responsibilities and could include:
- Activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful to the people, including maximizing independence and involving Whanau
- Household duties including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal cares
- Working together with a team to implement personal support plans consistently, with effective and positive teamwork and communication
- Providing people with a warm and nurturing environment to live in, which is inclusive of ideas and feedback so that each person is supported towards their personal goals

With an additional shift allowance of $1 per hour for Team Leader duties

- People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours
- Full driver's licence is essential
- Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
- A warm, calm, and friendly personality with a passion for supporting people to achieve positive outcomes for themselves
