Team Lead (Level 1) - Twelve month fixed-term

The opportunity - Ara Whiwhi Mahi
The Team Lead Level 1 role is instrumental in leading and managing a team who are passionate about the work they do. You will work closely with your team and other leaders to manage, coach, and develop people to provide quality services and better customer outcomes.
In this varied role you will:
- support your team to develop and build their capabilities to improve business outcomes and ensure a positive employee experience, including managing on-site and remote team members
- encourage your team to continually look for opportunities to improve services for customers across all channels and products
- actively manage and coach people to provide end-to-end customer service, enabling a "right from the start" approach
- role model leadership behaviours and deliver on customer and performance outcomes
- act as a point of escalation or assistance to support resolution of complex issues and achieve better outcomes for Inland Revenue and customers
- support the health, safety, and wellbeing of your people.

Previous Team Lead Level 1 experience or equivalent is highly regarded.

Customer and Compliance Services is made up of two groups: Individuals and Business. Together, we are a team of approximately 3,800 people across sites nationwide.
Our people make tax compliance simpler by providing confident, accurate advice on complex and global tax issues. We demonstrate Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, and Mahi Tika in everything we do to help make Aotearoa New Zealand an even better place to live and work.
We are the first point of contact for customers, from individuals and families to local and international businesses. We also provide tax technical and legal support across Inland Revenue and work closely with other agencies.
