Automotive Mechanic – Christchurch Based Role Available

We’re on the lookout for skilled Automotive Mechanics to support a range of work based in Christchurch

If you’ve got experience working on cars, SUVs, and utes and enjoy getting stuck into varied mechanical tasks, we want to hear from you.

Pay rate: $32–$40 per hour

As part of our team, you’ll be carrying out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a range of light vehicles while maintaining high safety and quality standards. You’ll be joining a trusted recruitment partner with strong local connections and ongoing opportunities for those who show their skills on-site.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform diagnostics and fault finding using modern and traditional tools
• Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, and mechanical repairs on petrol and diesel vehicles
• Inspect and test engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, and electrical systems
• Rebuild and repair key components including engines, drivetrains, and fuel systems
• Conduct performance testing, road-testing, and calibration to ensure repair quality
• Maintain accurate service records and support a clean, safe workshop environment

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ hands-on experience working on cars, SUVs, and utes
• Automotive trade qualification preferred but not essential
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills across petrol and diesel systems
• EV or hybrid servicing experience (bonus but not essential)
• Reliable transport
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Two recent and contactable work references
