Factory Team Member
Reporting to the Factory Manager, you must possess a strong commitment to product quality plus health and safety which captures the demands of our customers and team culture of exceptional service.
Fertco manufactures, blends, bags and dispatches fertiliser and animal health nutrition products, with no two days being the same.
Key Responsibilities:The role involves a hands-on involvement in all aspects of store operations and responsibilities working to critical deadlines and enjoy the challenge of solving problems, including:
- Loading and unloading bagged products onto trucks (forklift).
- Bagging fertiliser and animal health products.
- Devanning imported shipping containers.
- Operating and maintaining forklifts, plant and machinery plus general housekeeping.
- Communicating with work colleagues, customers and transport operators.
- Following company policies and procedures at all times.
- The ability to take instructions and carry out tasks without direct supervision.
- Be willing to work towards greater responsibilities over time.
- A good level of communication skills (both written & verbal) plus a working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be an advantage.
- Forklift operating skills including having the required OSH Forklift Certificate and F endorsement on drivers licence (these could be obtained afterwards for the successful candidate).
- A reasonable level of physical fitness plus some mechanical skills would be advantageous.
This is an approx. 5 month contract position with the possibility of extending. Hours of work will be no less than 40 hours per week based on normal operating hours of Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm with some flexibility when work load is high and could include some Saturday mornings.
Fertco remunerates employees based on their skill set and experience plus provides external training if required as the role develops.
