Cooks, Chefs and Bakers - Nelson

We are currently looking for experienced cooks to join our busy team at a new beachfront venue in Motueka in the sunny Tasman region.

Full-time, permanent positions with a minimum of 30 hours per week are available. New venue opening 1st October 2024.

You must have:

• A minimum of 2 year of experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• An ability to communicate well.
• The ability to work supportively and positively in a big busy team.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• The ability to be self-managing and displaying Emotional Intelligence with all interactions.
• The ability to follow instructions from your Head Chef.
• A passion for great food.
• A keenness to upskill.
• A positive, enthusiastic demeanor.

Tasks Include:

• Preparing, cooking & seasoning food to a high quality.
• Storing food at correct temperatures in accordance with our Food Control Plan.
• Being responsible for your own prep list and section.
• Reporting to Senior Chefs on all aspects of our kitchen operations.
• Ensuring all deliveries are received in accordance with our FCP.
• Following all in-house recipes and procedures correctly.
• Maintaining an efficient workflow, and clean workstations in accordance with our operations manual.
• Must be currently living in NZ, No overseas applicants will be considered for this role.

We are a busy, fast paced cafe/restaurant and these are a permanent full-time roles and would suit someone wanting to join a new team in the most beautiful location in NZ.
