Full time, permanent positionBased at Auckland City HospitalTe whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe Department of Pharmacy at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital has a fantastic opportunity for a registered pharmacist with at least one year’s experience to work with the Medicines Supply and Logistics team.

The Pharmacist Supply and Logistics will work positively and collaboratively with the support of senior and experienced staff in the busy inpatient pharmacy.

The key focus will be coordinating and maintaining an efficient workflow and the accurate and timely supply of dispensed, compliance packaged, controlled drug, repacked, investigational, unregistered, and compounded medicines to Te Toka Tumai patients and clinical trial participants.Business hours are 0800

-1630 Monday to Friday and 0800-1200 Saturdays.The main responsibilities of this role will be:Screening dispensary charts and accurately dispensing, supplying, and checking medicines including, extemporaneous and aseptic products compounded on site and those supplied by 3rd party compounding companies, including chemotherapy and antimicrobialsAccountability for controlled drugsOrienting, training, supervising, and supporting pharmacists, technicians, trainee Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technicians and students in the dispensary and other supply and logistics areasReviewing compounding and repacking worksheets, Standard Operating Procedures, and User GuidesMaintaining a quality focus by investigating errors and near misses, implementing remedial actions and supporting quality initiativesNga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsA commitment to biculturalismA commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for MāoriB.

Pharm. or other recognised pharmacy qualificationNZ registered pharmacist with a current APCAt least 1 years’ experience as a registered pharmacist preferably in a busy hospital pharmacy dispensaryDemonstrated proficiency in dispensing and the supply of medicinesApplied knowledge of NZ pharmacy legislation and Health & Disability service standard NZS8134.7:210Demonstrated positive and productive work relationships with customers and all levels of staffIntermediate computer skillsFull training and induction and ongoing support and professional development will be provided.For further information on this role please contact Naomi Wood
