Solutions Team is an overflow resource supplier to many BCA’s and TA's throughout New Zealand. We process in excess of 5000 Building Consents per year, carry out Building Inspections and support Building Officials with Technical Auditing and Competency Assessments.

We are a group of forward-thinking professionals who are moving ahead and responding to the opportunities throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for a current, qualified Building Official to undertake a variety of interesting work with ongoing professional and personal development opportunities.

We offer the ability to work remotely from home, or in one of our four offices throughout New Zealand, these include, Christchurch (HQ), Wellington, Auckland, Timaru.

You will be working with a team of highly skilled and well-respected Building Officials.

You will have:

  • Fantastic communication skills
  • Willing to go the extra mile for customers
  • Advanced current working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and Building Act.
  • NZ tertiary qualification in architecture/drafting or building construction
  • Current experience processing commercial projects for compliance with consent and code requirements.
  • A strong computer knowledge as we process plans electronically and multiple different systems

We offer full training and a great salary package, over and above our base salary, we also offer an incentive scheme, where employees are appropriately remunerated for their skills and experience.

Building Consent Officer – Processing

The preferred candidate will be a well-respected and knowledgeable Building Official and require technical competencies and experience in assessing applications preferably with a competency level of Commercial 3 or working towards Commercial 3.

You will have good process orientation with an ability to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to promote continued business improvement. Computer literacy skills will be visible through the production of reports, monitoring and reviewing of statistical information, and research of applications.
