Fabricator and CNC operator

We are looking for a talented and experienced Fabricator cum CNC Laser Machine Operator to support our growing manufacturing operations. This role involves operating CNC laser cutting machines, fabricating sheet metal components, and ensuring high-quality production output.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, hands-on experience with metal fabrication processes, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components according to engineering drawings and job specifications.
  • Select appropriate materials, machine settings, cutting tools, and parameters to ensure efficient and precise production.
  • Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, DXF files, and fabrication plans accurately.
  • Perform manual fabrication tasks including cutting, grinding, bending, drilling, tapping, and finishing of metal components.
  • Operate additional fabrication machinery such as press brakes, laser welders, or other workshop equipment when required.
  • Conduct quality checks and dimensional inspections to ensure components meet tolerance, finish, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and detect issues such as tool wear, misalignment, or material defects.
  • Maintain production logs, job tracking sheets, and process documentation.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure reliable operation.
  • Follow workplace health and safety standards, ensuring safe handling of machinery, tools, and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, production planners, and team members to meet delivery schedules and project deadlines.
**Skills and Requirements**
  • Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, cutting parameters, feed rates, and material behavior.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and design files.
  • Experience with machine setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with workshop measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, rulers, and squares.
  • Hands-on skills in general metal fabrication processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
  • Experience with CAD/CAM or nesting software is an advantage.
  • Experience with CNC press brakes, bending, or laser welding machines is beneficial.
  • Trade qualification in mechanical, fabrication, or related fields preferred but not mandatory.
