Summary**

We're looking for Casual Support Workers in Blenheim for our Mental Health and Addictions residential and community support. You'll support our tangata whai ora to build confidence, strengthen everyday living skills, and connect with their communities.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to make a real, difference in people's lives. Casual shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and awake nights - with a meal provided on awake night shifts.

**What we offer | Ngaahuatanga kei a matou**

We look after our people too! You'll enjoy:

  • Our awake nights shifts receive a complementary meal
  • A wide range of discounts through our employee discounts app
  • Discount at Specsavers for you and your whanau (family) members

**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**

As a Casual Support Worker, you'll have flexibility to be able to pick up a variety of shifts - including days, evenings, weekends, and awake nights. Your day (or night!) might involve helping someone with cooking, budgeting, or gardening, supporting them to appointments, or encouraging community connection.

Whatever it takes, you'll be there with empathy, encouragement, and a smile.

We work in a way that's grounded in strong, evidence-based practice, and we're guided by trauma-informed principles in everything we do. You'll help bring these values to life-role-modelling them and weaving them naturally into the way you support our tangata whai ora.

You'll report to the Team Coach and have plenty of ongoing support along the way. You'll also be part of a great team that's always looking for new ideas and better ways of doing things.

**You | Mou**

You're someone who leads with empathy and naturally puts people at ease, while upholding the mana of tangata whai ora.

You're confident working in a Maori context, comfortable with Te Reo and tikanga, and genuinely committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your everyday practice.

You'll also bring:

  • You might hold a level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or an equivalent qualification, or willing o study towards this qualification
  • A current full driver's licence.
  • A comprehensive first aid certificate (units 6400, 6401 and 6402) - or you're happy to obtain one within your first three months
