Mitre 10 Ponsonby is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable full-time, permanent Garden Sales Team Member to join our close-knit, community-focused team. If you love plants, enjoy helping people, and are looking to grow your retail career, this is an excellent opportunity!
As part of our Garden team, you'll help deliver a market-leading product range and exceptional customer experiences. While plants are at the heart of this role, you'll also work across garden care, tools, and décor - sharing your expertise and continuing to build your knowledge every day.
This is a 40-hour-per-week position, with a flexible roster pattern of either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday. Because we're a smaller store, you'll also gain experience across other departments when needed. This creates variety, ongoing learning, and a role that's never dull.Safety, teamwork and outstanding customer service are essential to how we work.
What You Will Deliver- Create outstanding customer experiences that make shopping simple, enjoyable, and inspiring.
- Share your garden knowledge and help customers find the right products for their projects.
- Support the weekly selection and ordering of plant stock (training provided).
- Grow your expertise and confidently share product knowledge with customers and teammates.
- Maintain high merchandising standards to ensure the garden area looks vibrant, inspiring, and well-presented at all times.
- Take ownership of the Garden department's presentation and product range.
- Communicate any issues promptly to the leadership team.
- Work collaboratively with the Retail Manager to achieve department goals.
- Support other areas of the store when required.
- Follow all health, safety, and store policies with integrity.
- A reliable team player who can also work independently.
- Someone who builds friendly, professional relationships and communicates clearly.
- A customer-service superstar with a genuine desire to help others.
- Energetic, positive, and keen to contribute to team success.

- Available to work a 5-day roster, including one weekend day.
