Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated General Mechanic to join our team at Burgers Motor Works. As a General Mechanic, you will work on a range of European vehicles, providing diagnostic, repair, servicing, tyre fitment, wheel alignment/balancing and more to keep our customers’ cars running smoothly and safely.

You’ll play an essential role in maintaining the high standards of quality and expertise that our workshop is known for.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and suspension components.
  • Fit tyres and balance them
  • Carry out wheel alignments
  • Communicate effectively with our service advisers to provide updates on repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to rebuild engines and replace timing chains/cam belts. A strong understanding of modern engine operation and timing is essential
  • Good communication skills in English are also necessary, as you will need to discuss faults and solutions with service advisers and customers
  • Clear written documentation is important for effective communication with service advisors and major mechanical warranty assessors
  • Ability to accurately read and follow repair instructions
  • Work as part of a team to meet deadlines and customer satisfaction goals.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a General Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle system and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license and any relevant certifications are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Automotive trade qualification
  • Specialist European vehicle training
  • Experience working in the Automotive sector
