Panel Beater / Senior Panel Beater

We are looking for a Panel Beater and a Senior Panel Beater.

Minimum guaranteed hours are 30 but normal hours are 40+.

The key duties are:

• assessing customer requirements;
• carrying out structural, panel and cosmetic repairs to vehicles as quickly and professionally as possible,
• meeting (bettering) target times;
• ordering of parts/supplies;
• ensuring compliance with industry specifications;
• working safely and delivering a quality of fit and finish that meets or exceeds the original factory finish;
• maintaining a tidy workshop.

The Senior Panel Beater will have additional responsibilities including:

• liaising with customers and insurance assessors, quoting on jobs & driving business;
• coordinating and overseeing workflows;
• overall responsibility for maintaining inventory, workshop health and safety compliance;
• supervising and mentoring workshop staff.

Minimum skills and characteristics required:

• Competent in all aspects of Panel Beating and structural repair/replacement and refitting;
• A Level 4 Trade Certificate relevant to structural/panel cosmetic vehicle body repair or 3+ years experience;
• Demonstrated ability to source and recover information from manuals and computer reference files;
• An in-depth understanding of health and safety responsibilities to self and others;
• NZ full driver’s licence.

For the Senior Role, you will have 5+ years industry experience including at least 1 year in a position of responsibility; a proven ability to secure and drive the work, deal with customers and insurers, quote for jobs, coordinate workflows, and mentor staff.

PAY RATES WILL BE REFLECTIVE OF LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE but the range is from $30 to $43.
