Te Awamutu - Experienced Roofer – Pride & Perks

placeTe Awamutu calendar_month

Would it change your life if you could work for a roofing company that not only pays top dollar and backs your growth, but also throws in some outside-the-box perks, keeps the good times rolling with epic team events — and genuinely appreciates the work you put in, believing that their success should be your success too?

Before I tell you about the job and who we’re looking for, I want to tell you my story — because I’ve been where you are now.
I’ve seen first-hand how good people can lose their spark when the culture’s not right — when there’s no real communication, appreciation, or sense of belonging. The truth is, it’s not a lack of skill that holds people back, it’s the environment they’re in.

Great people thrive in great cultures — where teamwork, feedback, and respect are part of everyday life. That’s exactly what we’ve built here.

If this sounds familiar, you’ll be happy to know it doesn’t have to be that way.

Who We Are

We’re Roofing Craftsmen Ltd, and for over 7 years we’ve been raising the bar in architectural roofing and cladding across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

From day one, our goal’s been to build a crew where everyone wins — where if you give your best, you get it back. We’ve always believed that success should be shared, and the people who help the company grow deserve to be rewarded for it.

These days, we’ve got a tight crew who feel genuinely backed and appreciated — trusted to do great work and supported to keep getting better. We focus on communication, teamwork, and growth, and we make a big deal out of great attitudes and commitment — because we reckon attitude beats skill every time.

Around here, culture isn’t a buzzword — it’s how we work.

The Role: Experienced Roofer

We’re on the lookout for a top-class roofer who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and doing things right. You’ll be working across high-end residential, commercial, and architectural builds — where quality counts and details matter.

You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that values attitude above all else — because we can teach skill, but we can’t teach drive. If you’re proactive, reliable, and keen to keep levelling up, this is where you’ll thrive. Bring the right mindset, and you’ll go far here.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Installing and finishing architectural metal roofing and cladding systems (Eurotray, Spanlok, Espan, Standing Seam, and similar).
  • Working on-site across Waikato and BOP with a supportive crew and strong systems.
  • Taking ownership of your work — planning, problem-solving, and keeping standards high.
  • Helping train and mentor apprentices.
  • Keeping health & safety tight and communication open.
  • Bringing pride, skill, and a good laugh to every site.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven roofing experience (architectural systems preferred).
  • A strong eye for detail and a genuine passion for quality work.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a high-performing team.
  • A positive, can-do attitude — you look for solutions, not excuses.
  • Full NZ driver’s licence.
  • Site Safe / Working at Heights (or ready to get it).
  • NZQA Level 4 Roofing qualification or equivalent experience is a big plus.
Why You’ll Love It Here
We know it’s great people — not just great skills — that make our business what it is. And we look after ours properly.
  • $35 - $40 per hour — we pay top rates for the right attitude, reliability, and craftsmanship.
  • $1,500 sign-on bonus — because we know changing jobs takes effort.
  • Company vehicle + iPhone for the right candidate.
  • Tool accounts sorted — no stress, just support.
  • Fresh and stylish uniforms — our crew always look sharp and wear their RC gear with pride.
  • Social Club — because it’s not all about work! Active adventures and good times together are important too.
  • Lifestyle & wellness perks — feel your best, perform your best.
  • Regular development and team days — so you keep growing and we keep improving.
  • A crew that’s got your back.

Your Next Step

We get it — making a move can feel risky. Maybe you’re comfortable where you are, but not fulfilled. Maybe you’re ready for a fresh start or a better crew.

If you believe you’re worth more — and you’re ready to work somewhere that does too — this is your moment.

Apply now with your CV and a short cover letter telling us why you’re the right fit. Please include a photo so we can put a face to the name.
