**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**
**This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00pm, based in Manukau working across South Auckland. Elements of the role may require travel.**
This role will involve working within the Housing First service. The wrap-around community housing-based service will have a strong focus on transition, recovery and wellness that empowers tangata whai ora and whanau to build the capacity to live well.
This role would be ideal for a Social Worker who would like to use their professional skills in a transferable way to make a difference in the housing space. You will require a practicing certificate for this role and will be supported to maintain your ongoing professional development needs and professional registration.
The position will involve working with and supporting people with high and complex needs, who are often living with intergenerational challenges, mental health, addiction and trauma issues around their needs to find and sustain homes in the community.
You'll work within a Housing First philosophy, and have the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and expertise in the area of housing and homelessness.
**You | Mou**- A current Annual Practicing Certificate and registration with the Social Worker Registration Board
- Strong communication and relationship building skills, you'll quickly build credibility while showcasing your sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Empathy and compassion are at the heart of your approach, enabling you to walk alongside tangata whai ora with care and respect.
- An ability to work at pace and flourish under pressure will be complemented by excellent attention to detail and proficiency in record keeping.
- An active listener, able to create space for others to be understood
- Knowledge of and demonstrate utmost commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi articles and working with Maori.
- A full New Zealand driving license is also essential.
