With a focus on high-quality landscaping, we work on a range of exciting projects that transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, functional areas. We are looking for a skilled Landscaping Team Leader with proven experience to join our team and help bring these outdoor visions to life for our Commercial and Residential clients.
This role is focused on hands-on landscaping, where your experience in hardscaping and softscaping will be fully utilized and valued. Please note this is not a gardening position. Landscape installation experience is a must.
Our Team Leaders enable a team of 2-5 landscapers to deliver high-quality projects. You are part of the team on the tools, and you enable the team to deliver landscape projects. Thanks to you, your team has everything to do a great job and delight our clients and create memorable landscapes.
The key elements of a Team Leader’s job evolve around Project Delivery, Quality, Health & Safety and Team Leadership.
Project Delivery
You manage the resources available to you on site and request more where necessary, making sure your team has everything they need.You keep oversight over project delivery, monitoring cost and you make sure your team’s work stays inside scope. When in doubt, you contact your Project Manager (PM), if things go wrong.
Quality
Your team’s work is of the highest standard; you make sure everyone is thorough. Communicating directly with clients will ensure their vision is brought to life and the presentation exceeds client expectations.When you find ways to do things better, you tell other Team Leaders or your PM.
Health & SafetyYou make sure your team goes home unharmed every day. You lead by example, and you make sure nobody works when they are unfit or without the adequate safety gear. Safety First, always. Maintain equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring everything is in good working order.
You apply and model good H&S practices, incl. daily pre-starts, Toolbox Talks, Take 5, Risk Assessments
Team Leadership
Organize the daily/weekly work schedule accordingly to ensure effective and efficient time management, whilst and delegating tasks based on team strengths and project requirements.You give your team regular encouraging feedback and constructive feedback where necessary. You praise a job well done and you point out room for improvement while providing guidance and training to junior team members, helping them grow their skills in both hardscaping and softscaping.
Essential requirements- Min. 3 year’s proven experience in landscaping, specifically landscaping installations
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques
- Experience with operating landscaping machinery and tools
- Min 1 years' experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with clients.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Listening skills: You can find out what motivates your team
- Communication: You can translate project objectives into tasks for your team
- Attention to detail: You take pride in completing jobs to the highest of standards
- A full clean driver’s license
