- About our teamTe Aho o Te Kahu-the Cancer Control Agency was established in December 2019 to provide national leadership for and oversight of cancer control in Aotearoa.
The purpose of the System Performance and Innovation (SPI) team is to monitor cancer system performance and support innovation and research to generate insights that drive evidence-based improvements.
Ko tōu ake mahi- What You'll DoYou'll play a significant role in advancing the Agency's understanding and oversight of cancer system performance and innovation.
Working as part of the SPI team, you'll provide high quality strategic and operational advice that supports evidence'informed decision'making and drives improvement across the cancer system.
You will also contribute to the delivery of the system performance, innovation, and research work programme and support the Agency's broader objectives as required.As the role is a technical and thought'leadership position, you will focus on interpreting evidence and emerging insights to understand how the cancer system is performing and where innovation can add value.
You will work with colleagues and partners to help identify key performance and improvement questions and support the development of insights that are robust, relevant, and aligned with strategic priorities.
An important part of the role is translating complex technical information into clear, usable insights to support a wide range of audiences.
This includes contributing to, and at times leading, the development of high'quality knowledge products, such as reports, infographics, case studies, and narrative stories that communicate system performance and innovation in an accessible and compelling way.
You will develop and maintain subject'matter expertise in cancer system performance monitoring and innovation, alongside strong working relationships across the SPI team, the wider Agency, and the cancer care sector.Through collaboration and partnership, you will help ensure system insights are able to support continuous improvement across the cancer system.
Ko ngā pukenga ōu- What You'll BringStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly for diverse audiences.Experience producing health system or policy knowledge products to inform decision-making, quality improvement, and performance monitoring.Demonstrated health policy analysis capability, preferably within the health sector.Ability to work effectively with data analysts to interpret and communicate insights.Proven organisational and critical thinking skills, with sound judgement, initiative and the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and confidentiality.Strong interpersonal skills and experience working across multidisciplinary teams.Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori tikanga and kawa, with a strong commitment to equity and working with diverse populations.A tertiary qualification in health policy or a related discipline is desirable.Join Te Aho o Te Kahu
