About the Role

As our Centre Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for young children each day. You’ll play an important role in supporting children’s wellbeing by providing food that is both nutritious and appealing.

This position is 5.5 hours a day/27.5 hours a week, roughly 7.45am-1.15pm daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan weekly menus in line with nutritional guidelines for young children
  • Prepare and serve fresh, healthy meals and snacks daily
  • Cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety
  • Manage food supplies, ordering/grocery shopping, and stock rotation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in cooking, preferably in a childcare, school, or similar setting
  • Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary needs
  • Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A positive, friendly attitude and ability to work independently
  • Reliability and attention to detail
