This role isessential in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of laboratorysamples, supporting high-quality diagnostic services and patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesKey Result Areas & Performance Indicators:Registering samples in the Delphic LIS system accurately and efficientlyPerforming specimen sorting dutiesPrioritising urgent samples to meet critical turnaround timesOperating the Lamson systemAnswering phone enquiries professionally and promptlyManaging front desk duties, including patient and client interactionsTroubleshooting specimen and system-related issuesLiaising effectively with internal departments, referral laboratories, clinicians, and nursing staffAbout youEssential RequirementsRelevant graduate qualification or QMLT certificateRegistration with the Medical Laboratory Sciences Council (MLS) and a current Annual Practising Certificate1'5 years' experience in Specimen Services or a similar laboratory environmentDemonstrated experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practiceStrong teamwork skills; proactive, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbove-average typing and data entry skills Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
