Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.We are seeking applications from suitably experienced Psychiatrists to discuss options to meet our service requirements at Southland Hospital.About the roleOur Community Mental Health teams are made up of Health Professionals who provide a range of specialist mental health services for adults who have been diagnosed with a significant mental illness.

Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector.

You will have a strong commitment to service user and family/whanau inclusion in service delivery, and a focus on recovery, as well as having a sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism.A personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and full participation in team functioning is pivotal to the position.

Your ability to provide clinical leadership and medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is essential.

We welcome enquiries to discuss options in either Community Mental Health, Inpatient Care or Older Persons.About youAs a Consultant Psychiatrist with previous older persons setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team.

Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position.You will:have a strong commitment to service user and family/whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recoveryalso have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalismhave a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levelsbe required to participate on an on-call roster providing after hours coverage for the Southland region.Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council.
