To keep that experience sharp, we're on the hunt for a talented Store Manager to join our senior leadership team and help us run a tight, efficient ship.
What's the role all about?
As our Store Manager, you'll work closely with the Owner/Operator to ensure daily operations run seamlessly across the store. You'll support department managers, uphold high standards, and make sure everything behind the scenes is slick, safe, and customer focused.This is a hands-on business leadership role with real impact.
You'll be responsible for:
- Driving day-to-day operational excellence across Grocery, Produce, Butchery, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Chilled, and our Front End.
- Coaching and mentoring department managers to lead high-performing teams and lift results. Ensuring stock control and supplier management are tight, with smart ordering, accurate PI counts, and strong relationships.
- Owning execution of pricing, displays, and store standards—including promo and ESL accuracy.
- Maintaining a customer-first culture, handling escalated queries and complaints professionally.
- Supporting loss prevention and compliance across Health & Safety and Food Safety.
- Contributing to roster planning and Staff efficiency, while developing talent across the wider store.
- Leading continuous improvement, troubleshooting issues, and delivering on store priorities.
What we're looking for:
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced FMCG/retail environment.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills—fair, consistent, and approachable.
- Operational discipline—able to execute with precision and adapt quickly when things change.
- Hands-on leadership style that builds team culture and inspires performance.
- FMCG experience is essential; supermarket & especially fresh food (Butchery/Bakery) experience is a big plus.
- Computer literate, confident with data and reporting.
- Physically fit and ready for the demands of a busy store environment.

- You'll be based in the Outdoor Hunting & Wilderness capital region of New Zealand. Central Plateau based role between Taupo, Turangi, Kuratau and Whakapapa. To be considered for this role they will need to have had experience in a Supermarket. A proven ability to supervise or manage a small to medium sized team and be able to demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills. They will also have a great attitude and work ethic, honesty, a high level of integrity, display high presentation standards, great delegation skills and have an eye for detail.
