Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, we are seeking to employ an experienced and professional Fuel Tanker Driver to provide support/cover for planned and sometimes unplanned absences within our team. This role is based in Dunedin and will primarily cover Dunedin and Invercargill.We offer a starting rate for this role of $42.61 per hour.

The key responsibility of this role is to ensure the safe transport and delivery of fuel into customer tanks at both rural and commercial locations. Our team strives for high performance, and we pride ourselves on the Service we deliver to our customers.
As part of joining our team at Fern you can expect: Full training for the role
On-going industry trainingAll Uniform and PPE gear supplied
Minimum 80 hours guaranteed pay per fortnight
Generally, days of work are Monday to Friday but the hours and pattern may change depending on operational requirements and seasonal demands
The role covers work predominantly across the Dunedin and Invercargill areas, however you will be required to stay away from home at times, to cover other areas, as part of the role
Minimum requirementsExperienced Class 5 Licence
Must be confident and experienced with towing a trailer
Must be physically fit (Note: our trucks have a seat safety rating, therefore applicants must weigh less than 140kg to be considered for this position)The role involves many delivery stops each working day which means a significant number of times you will be required to climb in and out of the truck.
The role also requires fitness to be able to climb up and down ladders at many customer sites.
‘Live’ load experienced preferred
Current Dangerous Goods Licence, or the ability to obtain one
Flexibility to meet the demands of the operation (some seasonal demands)
Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal
Must be capable of using a smart phone and in-cab tablet device (with training provided)
Dedicated to following health and safety and standard operating procedures
A proven track record of operating safety
A customer focused, solutions-based attitude
