We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a lead role in delivering diverse construction projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, precision, and continuous improvement.
You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard, while also contributing to the refinement of internal processes, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making.
This is a senior role suited to someone who enjoys influencing outcomes, improving systems, and operating as a trusted commercial advisor within the project lifecycle.

- Prepare accurate project cost estimates
- Monitor and manage budgets to meet financial targets
- Develop procurement strategies and source materials/subcontractors
- Prepare tender documents, assess bids, and negotiate contracts
- Manage contracts, variations, claims, and disputes
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and identify risks and savings opportunities
- Implement risk mitigation strategies
- Review and improve processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Embed best-practice project delivery methods
- Produce financial reports, forecasts, and cash-flow tracking
- Recommend actions to optimise financial performance
- Provide insights to support strategic decision-making
- A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
- 5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts, legislation, and industry standards
- Experience with an ERP system, preferably JobPac
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction estimation tools and Microsoft Office
- A proactive mindset, able to identify issues, offer solutions, and drive outcomes
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
