Field Technician (Horticulture)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of working outdoors, as well as some indoor lab work. You will have great attention to detail and can follow processes while using initiative in the field. This role is for an immediate start with the opportunity for ongoing work until May for the right person.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Visiting Kiwifruit and Apple orchards to collect fruit, leaf, and soil samples as directed, returning them to the Agfirst office in Motueka.
- Visiting orchards to count fruit, buds, branches as required
- Conduct hail damage assessments
- Undertake trial work assistance as required
- Help with any other general field or lab work that may be required
- Be able to work comfortably in a team or individually
- Supervisory experience would be beneficial
- Uphold Agfirst company values
- Must have own transport for travel to/from the orchards. Mileage will be reimbursed as per contract.
- Physically fit; capable of walking around orchards and carrying bags of fruit.
- Must follow hygiene protocols as advised.
- Must read and follow Health & Safety guidelines.
- Have great attention to detail, be accurate and reliable.
