Arable Farm Worker - Ashburton

We grow a variety of crops on the property which include ryegrass seed, clover seed, wheat, barley and other small specialist crops. Winter trade lambs are also an integral part of the operation with around 4000-6000 carried on farm over the winter.

We are looking for a person who is keen to focus on either the arable or stock part of the farm, but will have to do both at times throughout the seasons. The opportunity does offer room for the right person to grow into further responsibility within either farming facet.

• Operational knowledge of tractors, combines, sprayers and other machinery
• Auto steer and GPS
• Stock – animal health, temporary fencing, daily movements
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Happy to work independently or in a team when required
• Motivated to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining attention to detail
• Crop Irrigation management (can be taught)
• Machinery Maintenance (not essential)
• Some weekend work will be required due to the seasonality of our farming operation
• Heavy Traffic License – preferable or able to work towards one.
