Engineering Fitter

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Fitter to join a busy manufacturing site in the Hutt Valley. You will be an integral part of the maintenance team, ensuring plant equipment runs efficiently and safely. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, problem-solving work in a dynamic environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot faults to minimise unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage critical spare parts stock safely and economically.
  • Assist with work carried out by outside contractors when required.
  • Actively support health, safety, and environmental practices on site.
**Experience and Skills required:**
  • Previous experience as an Engineering Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good record-keeping and organisational skills.

**What We Are Looking For:**
  • **Trade Certification:** NZQA Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Turning, or equivalent.
  • **Industry Experience:** Experience in NZ manufacturing, food processing, infrastructure, or heavy industry.
  • **Work Eligibility:** Must have NZ work rights (citizenship, residency, or valid work visa).
  • **Health & Safety:** Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety regulations
  • **Transport:** Full NZ driver’s license is required .
